Steering wheel off helps.. Then its mostly self explainatory if you have a mechanical mindset. Get a manual for your truck if you dont already have one.

If you just wanna pull the lock cylinder, insert the key, turn it on and depress the little button thru the small hole just under the cylinder. The cylinder will slide out.

i just did mine a while ago, and i got an aftermarket cylinder, and it took about 5 minutes to replace, but just dont listen to the instructions, just put the key in, turn it on, and then push the pin in and pull out, and to put it in u just put in the new key, turn the cylinder till, the pin goes in and put the cylinder in, and turn the ignition off.

The pin is in the little hole next to the hazard lights switch.

key cylinder

in a 90 model, you probably have to remove the steering wheel. then you have to push a pin that is hiding at an angle on the cylinder. i did mine this weekend, & i have a 91 custom. (no little holes in the column, dangit) oh yeah, get the motorcraft replacement part, its only 16 bucks!!!
