searched and couldnt find CHIT! 79 3/4 brakes ?
ok basically im pulling my front 1979 3/4 ton dana 44 apart and got the factory automatic hubs taken apart and the dual piston calipers off (which are trashed and need new ones, anyone know where to find these?), and now i cant get the hubs and rotors off. any thing i missed?
also when taking my rear 1979 3/4 ton dana 60 brakes off i removed the axle shafts but dont know where to go from there to remove the factory drums. help here would be great. sorry about the newb ?s but ive never worked on any old ford stuff so this is new to me. thanks. |

if you have worked on any d44's or full floating rear dif these are pretty much the same deal
you need to get a "hub socket" to get the wheel bearing locknuts off the front the rear will have wheel bearing locknuts aswell (different style) but you may have to back off the brake adjuster to pull the drums if they are tight go purchase a haynes or chiltons manual for the truck if ya don't know how ta do it that would be better than trying to listen to vauge part descriptions on the internet
