I just got a sterling 10.25 with a limited slip 4.10 ratio. I have no clue what year it is because it was sitting on the ground by itself at the bone yard. It has a wheel speed sensor, and the drums come off with out taking the hubs off. So how do I tell what year it is?

Having a VSS means it's 87 or newer. That's all I can tell ya. All Sterlings have ourboard drums.

is there a difference between the newer and older ones with the casting? Earlier ones were RABS ringtone, will the bung work for VSS as well?

The tag on the cover is as follows: 1st line V132C, 2nd line 4L10 10 2 8M21. I think it's an 87 or 88 axle, but I'm not sure. Any more help?

Does it really matter? I dun think there is much of a parts difference between the years. The only differences I am aware of is the legnth of the splines on the pinon ('92 and up had longer??)

Believe it was either 90-up or 92-up didn't have the leaky tendency.

Who cares, run it!

The VSS is the same. It'll work for ABS, or for speedo. You'll have to recalibrate properly (different teeth then an 8.8).

Thanks for the insight. I've got a spedo recalibrater already installed in my Bronco, so I don't think it will be too hard to fix the spedo. I use a GPS to set my speed by. Thanks again!
