I got a suggestion for you on a suspension. Get some real flexy stock leaves from other trucks ie jeep wagoneer, ford ranger, ect, put shackles on the front and the rear and fab up a 2 link and a panhard bar setup or a 3 or 4 link. I heard this can flex really well and is fairly inexpensive. I dont know how it would handle on the street though, but it doesnt seem likes gonna see pavement much if your gonna dovetail it and hack half the body off of it.
if you want cheap/free parts to fab up a lift go to your local 4 wheel drive shop and ask them if you can have or buy stock/changed out suspension pieces from other trucks that have gotten lifts and are throwing away the stock/old lift parts. I got a set of brand new shocks and front shock mounts from a f250 for free at my local shop. Also try military auctions for tires that were on the humvees or other trucks most of them are 36" michelens, a friend of mine got a set for around 300 bucks with a lot of tread on them.

is anyone else having a hard time seeing them? i post them just like my cruisah thread....
anywhoo. got the back brakes figgured out. tracker rotors didnt work so i took em back. (+24.00) i was going to use CJ7 rotors, but vatozone didnt have them... or crown vic's, or anything else i could think of.....untill i found full size mid 90's rotor assemblies for 25.00 (!) bucks a peice..... so i bought two 50.00 and used another of those autozone giftcards i've been getting by purchasing all my stuff thru them.... (-20.00) so i paid 6.00 for the new rotors...... in addition, i got two spare hubs w/ bearing races installed, and 10 lug studs.. A SCORE! 2457 remaining i need a bench seat, and harnesses..... plus guages, cause i dont trust the stock ones....

well i posted last night, but i dunno what happend. so here it is again.. i did this yesterday
im here takin the day off cause the woman just got her wisdom teeth yanked. well i took the rear end apart to get the axles out for my disc brake conversion. the passenger side axle splines were toast. it wouldnt suprise me if they were spinning in the spider gears, thats how trashed they were....drivers side ok.. so i took the spare axle apart and stole an axle out of it. bummer thing is, is the flange that holds the axle bearing to the housing is a small pattern on the spare axle,(i presume its a car rear end) and the axle i have is a large pattern flange. so i tried taking off the big ass collar that holds the bearing on the end of the axle, and no dice. w/ a bearing splitter, a 50 ton hydo press and a torch, and it aint coming off.... so im going to have to cut the bearing collar off to remove the bearing, to remove the seal, to remove the flange i need. ok with that said, my axle shafts are good to go. except that they dont fit inside the hat of my rotors (doh!) so i threw the axle shafts back into the diff, w/ the axle on jackstands, i put the truck in gear, and cranked it up so the axle would spin and took a grinder to the wheel stud flange. i took of mebbe 1/16 of an inch off of the diameter of the axle flange, and now the rotors fit perfect. so with the axles out, i decided to pull the third member out to adjust the tremendous backlash that was in the drive train, seal it up and change the gear oil. the yolk is loose on the pinion, so i wanted to change the front seal, and put a new crush collar on it and snug it back down. thats when things went down hill. one of the studs that goes bolts the third member in is spinning. ok, got that taken care of, took it out and ill fix it when i reinstall it. pulled the third member out, and the ring gear is absolutley trashed. paper wieght. pile of shit. complete waste of metal. trash. crap. yuck. metal shavings. they are so worn out that the gear teeth look like knife edges (thus all the backlash)....its the worst set of gears i have ever EVER seen. so im going to need new (or new to me) gears..... so i pull the third member out of my donor axle, and they are a 3.8x gear...... the truck has a 3.50 gear in it. double crap. so the predicament im in: find some new or used 3.50 gears for the rear 9 inch. find some new or used 3.8x gears for my front reverse cut dana 44 find some new or used 4.xx gears for the front AND rear..... so looks like the cheap truck challenge is going to be a challenge to say the least to keep this in budget now.

Same here, I'll send you a 3.5 r&p for shipping costs. Some suggestions though...if this is going to be replacing your lightning, go with leaf springs in the rear. Search around and see what people are doing for flexy leaves and go with it..or buy an 11leaf pack from somewhere. 2, you live in fucking texas. TEXAS. There is no state in the us with more trucks--and especially 3/4-1 ton trucks...with huge mall-crawling tires. Look around, I bet you could find a 3.5 laying behind your local scrapyard or one of the 40 4wd shops nearby for the price of nothing. And as to the tires, buy them used too...again, look around you at how many teenagers realize daily that their 36's just aren't so big anymore compared to every else's 38's-44's.
Be fucking thrifty and don't be in a hurry, and you will make your budget...ask me how I know. (I'm cheap as shit too). ![]() And are geo trackers 5x5.5? Did you re-drill the rotors or what? More pics! And pics of your goofy-ass grinding the wheel flanges down while they were spinning plz.

no the geo tracker shit didnt work.
i used bronco front end rotors, like mid 90's.... they were only 25 bucks a peice w/ the hub and lug studs. the rotors hat was too small ID, and the axle flange was to big OD, so the grinder and spinning it just came to mind when looking at it ![]() and yes geo trackers are 5 on 5.5.......solid rotor though... the broncos, obviously were TTB vented rotors.

ok i also need those collars that retain the bearing on the axle, but im unable to locate them.....i want to buy them.
also, since im replacing the bearing seal for the axle, u think i should replace the bearing retainers with aftermarket bigger ones? its an unneeded expense, unless it is a wise replacement
