Ford 330?
I've got a 73 F600 truck with a 330 engine and 2bbl carb. What engine family is this motor? I'd like to put a 4bbl intake and carb on this.

It's an FE motor. But the medium duty FE motors have an extra exhaust port in the heads. That means you will need to run the factory exhaust manifolds with the motor (no aftermarket headers).

On the 330 I had, I saw no differance on the intake side. I didn't try to bolt on an aftermarket intake, but the intake side on the heads didn't look any different. If you want to chance the $250 or so bucks it takes to get an Edelbrock performer intake, I think that would be your best (not nessesarally your cheapest) option. Cheapest would be to use a cheesy 2 to 4 bbl carb addaptor. Next least expensive option is to get a Holly 500 cfm 2bbl carb (they work great on the FE motors).

The exhaust cross over is in a different location on the FT engines (The heavy truck version of a FE). The FE has the exhaust crossover in the rear and the FT has it in the middle of the intake. So you cant swap factory intakes from one to the other. The Edel intake doesn't have a crossover so it might work but I don't know of any body who has done it. If you swap the heads and intake off of a FE engine you will see more power than just a intake swap. The bore on a 330 is small and I am more familur with the bigger 361 and 390 so I am not sure what heads will work as far as valve sizes go.
