Swapped Out

Can anybody tell me why ford mixes there parts.
Went to parts store to by a master cyl. for 78 bronco and master cyl. wouldn't match up. Finally matched one up that was listed for 77 E-Van 250.
The prob. was that the ports were on the wrong side for the brake lines.
Any input would be nice.

because they can. OR a previous owner did the swapping themselves (most likely answer) Be glad it wasnt an AMC product. They bought their parts from other car manufacturers. It was anyones guess what would be under the hood

thanks for your input, but I was trying to figure out if someone else did it becuase a stock boosters stroke was also 2 1/2" shorter than the one that was on it also and that seemed like alot of work for a home mech. to do

If you haven't bought and installed a "correct" m/c and booster for your Bronco, you may wish to use a 1-ton m/c and booster setup. All you have to do is reroute the brake lines an install a larger flare nut and re-flare a brake line.

I keep telling myself that it's because they are dynamic and constantly improving their product, not waiting for a new model year, or even a shift change. But that still doesn't explain why I had to buy 66 F350 2wd drums for my 75 F250 4wd. Luckily I worked for a parts store and I could get half a days wages trying to figure out what parts Mother Ford gave me .

I found out that master cyl., booster and whole pedal assemble is out of 77 3/4 van.
