Dana 50 TTB to Dana 60 interchange
I know the hubs and lockouts on a Dana 50 TTB and an 78-97 Dana 60 front are the same. I'm pretty sure the rotors are the same. I know that the calipers are the same within certain years. My big question is are the spindles the same? Will a Dana 50 TTB spindle work on 78 - 97 Dana 60 axles?

Do you mean that 94-97 D50 spindles will work on D60 axles? I checked the knuckle bolt pattern and found it to be the same. I suspect the bearings are the same also. My main concern is the length.

Like fordnut said, the portion of the spindle that is a light press fit into the knuckle is longer on the D60 spindles than the TTB spindles. This s because the D60 spindles have to go through the caliper mounting plate, and into the knuckle. The TTB knuckle has a cast in caliper mount, so the back portion of the spindle is shorter, by about 3/8". I would think it would be unsafe to put the D50 spindles through the caliper plate and on a D60 knuckle, as the spindle will not press into the kncukle, it will just be in the caliper plate and then you are relying on just the spindle studs to support the weight of the vehichle. If you bolted the D50 spindles up w/o the caliper plate for whatever reason, then your stub shaft would be about 3/8" to long, and you would have no way to mount your calipers. You may be able to come up w/ some sort of custom caliper mount and put it in front of the spindle, but I would imagine you will end up w/ rotor alignment and interferance problems in that case.
Later, Jason
