9" w/ 5x4.5" bolt pattern?

Did Ford ever have a narrow 9" rear with the 5x4.5" bolt pattern in any of there vehicles? If so, what should I look for?

I just threw one out, it was 58" WMS, 28 spline drum brakes. I dont know what it was orig from but it had 4 link mounts and coil buckets. I got it from a trailer that was the back half of a pickup bed.

The 65 to 73 mustangs came with them. The 65/66 being the narrowest anf the 71/73 being the widest. Sorry I don't know the widths off the top of my head.

i think fairlanes and all the V8 cars came with them IIRC. look for a lincoln and get one with disc brakes :-) although it'll have some TALL gears in it. them old boats always ran like 2.80's or something like that...

The lincoln versailles rear axle is 28 splines like all the other cars unless you get a BB car axle then it will have 31 spline axles. The down side to the versailles axle is it has special axles and I am not sure you can get after market or not. Plus the versailles parts are very very pricey. Like $100 for a caliper or rotor. If you needed both calipers and rotors you would have $400 wrapped up in it.

99% of the time the cars will have a 2.80 ratio. The versailles is common to have a 2.45 gear.

Unless you get lucky and find a monarch or granada that came with them, LOL
The lincoln is probably your best bet. There are tons of them in the wrecking yards, Like pick n pull

If you get a big bearing housing you can run explorer discs with a little modification. 2nd gen explorers are showing up in the yards here every once in a while, or you can buy the kit for about $350. If you don't need a parking brake you can fab up your own for very little.

I think you'd be money ahead to go either route I mentioned vs going versailles. They are heavy, expensive and don't really work that well.
