super duty tranny probs
so i have 2004 f350 4x4 with a 6.0 with a auto i use to tow my rig to the trails and its my dd. i went to the pismo sand dunes on sat. and decided to go play around in my truck i was spooling the truck up pritty good a few times through the gears, nothing crazy( i have 38s if it matters) and then my truck wouldnt go into first gear, went rite to 2nd, and it had no power at all even through the other gears, i check my egt and tranny temp on my piller while i was messing around and they never got high at all. i let my truck run for about 5mins to let the turbo cool down and then shut the truck off.. let cool for about an hour. i then started her up and drove her home it was going into first but i still feel like i was missing a bunch of power, like the turbo wasnt building boost. i drove my truck today and there is nothing wrong with it, drives fine. so what do you think is wrong, tranny, computer? should i take it to the dealer??? any help would be great...

did you have it in the water? on our fleet trucks - in the snow / heavy water they will do that - like a limp mode - the connectors on the tranny ( shift position / valve body control ) - get moisture in them - we spray them out and they run fine - put some dialectric grease on the connections -

he probably did nothing but drive the truck. the 6 leakers have huge turbo problems with them. my buddy has a 06 with 30k and he just had his turbo replaced. totally stock truck. never towed. no chips or power adders.

i really think there is a 50/50 chance that you will get a crap 6.0. I have an '04 w/ just over 110k on it now. Very few problems. Coolant has been burping some...think it might be an egt cooler problem. other than that, hardly anything to speak of.
Truck is just off of warranty and i'm praying it stays as reliable as it has..
