valves are not adj on the 4.6 - the 16 / 32 valve - may be a dead lifter -

well I know I have to get under the valve cover to see whats up, how can I tell if the lifter is dead, and theres nothing to adjsut the valves at all, not even anything dealing with valves, and oil level is full, o and the car lost quite a bit of performance when this started to happen.

I know 4.6s are notorious for that sound. My 99 cobra makes the same noise but not too bad. I dont know the fix, but I do have a great idea.. Why not try a mustang forum.
