Looking for some clarity about these axles. Am I right to say that the hubs, rotors, calipers, and lock outs are all the same on these three axles? Specifically can I pull the lock outs off an '80 D50 and use them on my '77 D44HD?
fairly sure the ttb D50 and solid axle d60's will interchange. At least I hope they do, I've got a set in my garage I'm going to put on my d60, just got to finish building it, but from the measurements I've taken they look to be the same
Good question, the answer is NO, and kinda if the right years...
Here is my Front Dana 44 chart, not even Dana 44's swap with Dana 44's... http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/Spicer/graph/Dana44partnumberscommon_.gif
Off the top of my head, nothing switches from a HD44 to a Dana 50 AND a Dana 60. Some parts go from some dana 44's to some dana 60's, but the early ones. And some parts go from Dana 50's to some Dana 60's. (edit,ok maybe a cotter pin... or gear fluid)
I'm too lazy to give you all the parts and years, but you can find it yourself on http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/demenu.aspx (hint start in the pds, and plan 10-20 hours of reading and not taking.)
Good question, I'm sure you can find some info searching...
I'd compare the spindels, and if they look good
