The heads really aren't the issue. You need the matching springs for your cam and if you have pressed studs you need to get screw in studs. I have a .550 lift, 292 duration cam with stock heads in a 351W. The heads aren't smog heads and have a nice port and polish. You need to make sure the spring height is correct and so on. If you are going big lift is the rest of the engine going to be able to use it? Really in my 351 the heads are the choke point, it has more potential in it.
.550 is cutting it awefully close with stock valve springs and valves. You are going to have to machine the heads to fit positive seals and longer valve springs.
