I'm rebuilding my dana 60. I pulled the old inner axle seals out.I had these rubber ones in there

These are the new seals i got.

Does this part need to come out too to get the new seals to go in?

This is a front high pinion 60 from a 79 fordf350

I would say no the metal part that is left in their is the ramp to guide the axle into the seal. You need that part so the seal dosent get damaged when you install the axle. So unless you have new guides (ramps) to replace the old ones with leave them alone and install the new seals behind them.

Not if its an orignal Dana-Spicer part or an exact replacement seal. I rebuit my 60 last year and ordered Dana-Spicer parts and the seal was seprate from the the ramp. I did do a 44 years ago and went to Ford for the inner seals and it was a one piece ramp and seal.:homer:
