Ive got a HPD44, 8 lug from a 78-79 leaf sprung F250. It has the large 4 piston calipers, and I was wondering how much backspacing could be run with 16in wheels? Would they clear the brakes with around 4-5in of backspacing with a 8-9in wheel? Sorry for the stupid questions but the search isnt working for me as usual. :shaking:
I have Highsteer arms on my 78 D44. Running H2 rims (I know, 17"... but over 5"of bs) I have about 1/2 inch clearance on the arms. I also have about 1 inch clearance on brakes, so 16" wheels should be fine.
I have 17'' H2 wheels with stock steering, everything cleared fine. I think they have 5.5" of BS. again not a 16" but wheel but trying to give you an idea of the BS limits, you probably would not need to go over that anyway.
