theres a guy parting a 98 150 on craigs list. i need the rear end. its a 2wd, ive got a 4x4. (will that even bolt up) any way what is a web site where i can decipher the vin number and find out the ratio. or i he is going to e mail me the vin tonight or tommorow and i can post it.
just tell him to read the stupid tag on the axle that says EXACTLY what size and ratio it is. you don't need the VIN for anything.
it's either going to be an 8.8" or a 9.75".
if the tags are gone, the gears have probably been messed with, thats the only reason to remove the tag, I'd get the guy to pop the cover before you drive to get it, seems like a pain if they end up being wrong and thats the only way to be sure you get the right ratio
where is the axle code on the build sticker? i just looked at my 01 350, my 79 and my 78 blazer. i dident see a code but i dont know what im looking for. and when i pop the cover is there any way to tell besides if its stamped on the ring
