whats the fluid i should use in it Iam stuck in lodi and we have no manual for the truck mercon five or just mercon its an automatic 4x4 thanks for the help

Dextron\mercon III will work fine,

Sounds like Ford would top it up with Mercon V, but some pundits argue mixing them is bad.

I switched up to Mercon V on my '97 when I changed the fluid because its what I could easily find in 20L pails.
