99 ford expodition engine light

when ever i get gas and fill it to a little more that 3/4 of a tank or more the service engine light comes on.

i hooked up a computer and it says "gas vent hose",

i checked all the fuel lines and none are leaking or cracked.

what sensor maybe going out? the car just rolled over 182,000 miles.
any help will be great

tried that, it only does it whenever it has over 3/4 of a tank, i can erase the code and it will come right back if i get gas.

try some fuel injector cleaner - - fucktard


what code # ass wipe - there is no code for a " gas vent hose "
perhaps a evap system leak ( large or small ) ?
or system purge failure ( crk fault ) ?
there could be a few reasons for the engine light. if a evap leak is present, then the light will come on. If the emissions system has fuel and not vapor in it - the light can come on -


now give me a code # -
not your interpitation of a code - like - the code for being a fucktard -

GIVE A "P" SERIES CODE #
and i will try to help - but if this turns into another fuel injector cleaner debate - fuck a blender full of rusty nails and bleach

I might not be the smartest and that is why i ask the questions, if I know what the problem was then I wouldn't be talking to a assholes like you!!!

The reader I used said "fuel vent release". I will get the code from it Sunday when I have access to it. So until then you can call me a fucktard, asswipe, and whatever else you can try to think of that might just hurt my little feelings all you wish. Cause it wont work you asshole!!!

i respond to your posts like an asshole because you have taken advise from many knowledgeable people, and have thrown it away. In your last posts i asked for a code # - you never produced it, and then still wanted an answer with out providing additional information. If you want help, i will provide what i can, but you need to post more facts. There are many reasons a engine light can come on. some generic scanners will give a code, then a breef gerneric discription. Not the manufactures discription. so an actual code # will help more than a discription.

i just skimmed through 25 code discriptions that are related to the fuel tank pressure/ vaccum/ purge. none that say " fuel vent release "

purge ? maybe ? that woul narrow it to 7

i will post the diagnostic steps, but need the code # first

looks like there is to much vaccum in the fuel tank, or at least the computer thinks so. You need to check for bent or clogged evap lines ( there should be 2 fuel lines - the rest are for the evap system ) make sure they are not kinked, and dissconect them at both ends and blow through them ( do no use compressed air - use your mouth ) to make sure they are not clogged. the lines could be kinked at the evap canister ( not just the fuel tank ) the pressure sensor could also be damaged - check for the lines then get back to me -
