HP D44 Identification?

I just bought a bare high pinion housing, but have no idea what year and model it actually came from. I found the BOM on the long side tube, but looked it up and it does not show up on Dana's site...

These are the numbers on the tube
7 23 6 B 4 603808 9

Can someone point me in the right direction? This has the weld on radius arm bushings if that helps any.

Steve

On the housing right where the yoke is there will be a 44 cast into the housing if it is a 44, it took some scraping off of rust and grime to find mine.

It's deffiantely a HP Dana 44. I just don't know what year/application it came out of. I found the BOM on the tubes, but Dana's site doesn't go back that far.

if it has welded on coil mounts it is 78/79 style out of a bronco,f100,f150. 78/79 style also has the cast in radius arm c's. Not welded on like the 76-77 style.

I'm pretty pleased. Now I just need to cut off the radius arm mounts, shorten the long side, and bolt up my Chevy outers. (Not to mention find a short side inner shaft)

Thanks for all of the help guys..

Here is my list of Dana 44 axle shafts. Just the fronts with 297 sized u-joints (aka 5-760x)

I've got some alloy USA shafts for a waggy (still need to get bobby longs joints), so I'll only need to get the one inner shaft and I'll be set. But the stock shaft will be a spare.
