FI 460 to carb 460
I'm trying to figure out whether or not I can swap out a mid 80's Fuel injected 460 into my 1985 F-350. I think the FI 460 came from the crossover year. Maybe 86 or 87???
I just want to take the intake manifold and carb off and swap them out. IIRC, there is something that requires a little tweaking, but that it will work. I searched, checked out the weekly topics and kept going through 460 info, just couldn't find what I was looking for. Any help or a link would be appreciated. Just for clarification, I want to go back with the carb. That is what was in it and I don't want to do the wiring for FI. Kel

To make a Fuel Injected 460 into a carbed engine you will need to change the heads and intake. You will need heads from a carbed 460 to make it work. You cannot just change the intake. Go to the autozone or the JY and get a set of D3VE heads or something.
