The Carcass

No tech here just an abortion Looks like ass! POS! Well maybe not that bad, but help me with it???

Show and Tell Time:

393, BLah, Blah Blah TwEECer tuned A3M1 for engine management.
Drivetrain: ZF 5 spd., Klune V Goliath and NP205 T-case; 35 spline 9" rear: True Hi9 ARB, 5.38:gears, shackle flip. Hybrid 69 True Hi9 front SAS front: Duff arms, Deaver Superflex coils, ARB, 5.38 gears, 39.5X12.5 IROK's,and Knuckle under steering W/DOM tubing, chevy TRE's, and hydrolic assist.
Carcass of a Bronc, cut up Exo/ino narrowed in the front and bobbed in the back, tube doors, and snap out windows.

Hell it's never done, but near. I need some input on where to add some strength/triangulation? The top will get tube gussets at 45*'s in each corner and the "A" pillar will get an inverted "V" inside and through the roof.

I totalled an 84 FSB after a couple years of work went into it. I hope this one survives. I skinned the outer sheet metal cause I couldn't see adding a heavy exo to an already heavy FSB. It comes in under 5,000lbs loaded, no driver or passengers.

Meh, I don't think it looks all that bad. Besides, you are asking how to improve your exo and provided pics for us to reference; thats better tech then half the new threads we've had in here this week

In a roll, you'll have allot of lateral strain on that exo, any way you can reinforce that back area thats totally open? An X would be best but I don't know if that would interfere with whatever you stash back there. Gussets are always a good idea, don't forget the speed holes!

Don't have the dimple dies!

I moved the roofline/angle forward on the C pillar a couple of weeks ago. This mod of the cage lowered the CG some as there is less pipe up high and now the spare can be placed down low. It greatly improved visability out the back. I can see well down and too the side even with the spare mounted up on the tank. It will get some tube gussets at a 45 on the roof top square at the "C" pillar and at the supports that come off the back were they meet the "C". That should help considerably. I may add in another couple of triangles down low.

This is what it was like in da back. The C pillar supports should have come in to the horizontal tubes tying it to the B pillar. they do now and the cross added some support but the spare was mounted too high and in the way.:

I think adding this peice would address some of the side/lateral hits to the "C" pillar:

This still allows two guys to stand in the back. hold on to the cage with one hand, beer in the other, and yeeeeehaw all dayo!

I want to get the big peices in, then large longer tubular corner gussets, then saddles, and then flat 1/8"thick corner gussets.

It sucks!

Do you get to Sedona much? Get a trail map or follow them Pink Jeeps around cause they hit some great trails!

MOAB (Mother Of All Bronc's) is about a 6 or 7 hours dirve for me and no, I have not done it yet. We are relatively new to the Denver area and the build is relatively new. There may be a trip in the cards for Fall. The Summer gets spent on trips in the Rocky's.

There are no trails in Sedona worth wheeling.

It's a beautifual place and I would guess you have not tried Morgan Road. 2', 3', & 4' ledges, slickrock, and a steep decent in the "staircase". It's a short run but fun.
