rear disc brake setup

hey all.. im new to the ford forum not to pirate though.

i have a friend trying to find a suitable disc brake swap for his 8.8... he is looking for the 5 on 5.5 lug pattern. is it absolutely necessary to redrill the discs or was there and 8.8 that came with the 5x 5.5 lug pattern.

any information would be nice.

thank you
charlie

Easiest swap I can think of is swap on 2nd gen explorer disk brakes and run adapters. I dont think any 5 on 5.5 8.8" came with disks.

Wrong. F-150 went to metric bolt pattern on an 8.8 axle in '97.
