ZF 5 speed?

I just picked up my 85 F350 and it has a 5 speed in it not a 4 speed. Does anyone know when they put the ZF trannys in the Fords?
thanks

As far as I know '87 was the first year Ford used the ZF5. I swapped one into my '86, it's entirely a bolt-in deal.

Send a message via AIM to thejon2524
87 was the begining of the zf's. However ,You could still order a truck with a t-18 four speed as an option up until 96.
