I have a 79 f150, and I had to cut about 4 inches off the bottom of the fender to clear 35.5 tractor tires. I cut from the front of the wheel well, to the bumper across the bottom most part of the fender basically. BUT I have a 6 inch lift on it. I highly doubt you will get those tires under it without major heavy duty hacking. Lift kits for old fords are cheap, and they sit pretty high to start so you don't need a huge kit.

I have a 78 150 with 35's on it with no lift, but they rub pretty good at full turn.I don't think you will fit 36's.

I was running 38.5x15 boggers on 15x10" rims with 3.75" back spacing on the Screwball with out a lift at all. It took chopping the fuck out of the front fenders to make it happen, and the tires would rub on the cab mounts & radius arms at full lock, but it is doable.

Quit being a poon, chop your fenders and run the tires you want to. If you chop them right, they'll turn out looking good.... See for yourself

As you can see the tires were a tight fit, but they clear, and would actually tuck pretty good despite the "low" clearance. When I cut the fronts out, I followed the homo-ghey chrome trim line that ford put on these trucks back in the 70s, and it made for one helluva good guide for where to cut.

yup, cutem. if you have the xl trim its mega easy. just follow the bottom of the trim, see... 4'' lift and 42's i know its not a 150 but, you can still see a decent cut line.
