AFAIK SuperCab 4X4s didn't come with a short bed, long bed only.

In '77 ('77-1/2?) CrewCab 4X4s changed from lwb only to swb only, is that what you are thinking of?

Like he said they didn't come SWB to my knowledge either.

Where are you located. I know af a supercab 4x4 in my area that was for sale for a while and it is still sitting on the property.

I also have a supercab on a frame 2wd that I am looking to get rid of. You could use it and make your own 4x4 out of it then you could do a SWB

yea i dont know too much about the late 70s supercabs, i just seen one on craigslist where im from and the pic looked deceiving i guess but i could of sworn it looked swb....anyways im from Southeast GA...so the 77 1/2 crews came swb?...i really like the supercab or crew style being its different just not the lwb...push come to shove i could make it swb and put it on a swb frame...

No, no, no, that's not the problem, my terminology was kinda general. I think, but am not 100% certain, that 4X4 SuperCabs were not made in a short bed version, 2wd yes. I would bet the truck in the ad has been converted, we are not the first ones to think of it and it's had 30 years to happen. It would be interesting to hear if you find out for sure. If it is converted that's not a bad thing if it was done properly.

super cab shortbeds were only made in 79 in that bodystyle and they were only available in 2wd
crewcabs were only available in shortbed in 4x4 form from 73-79

I don't think so, I've seen many '73-'77 long bed 4X4s and never a short bed 4X4 in the '73-'77 years. I agree all '77-1/2 - '79 CrewCab 4X4s are shortbeds.

this has been discused on oldfordcrewcabs.com many a time. the fact is everybody there agrees about no longbed 4xs made until the 80s. so i go along with it

edit- not to say you havent seen one, because ive seen many, but they were all confirmed to be built that way after the fact.

nothing to add, but subscribing for future refernce.

i do have a question, the ext cab was available in long bed from 72-78 in 2wd and 73-79 in 4wd on all the series or just one specific (ie F150, F250) and were there any F-100 supercabs? and, were the crew cabs only on the F-350s?

The frame I started with for mine came from a 79 F-350 supercab long bed, (was stripped of its 60 front & 70 rear, then parted til the only thing left was the frame) thats when I got it,
The cab came from a 75 F-150 supercab shortbed, (2wd 460 C-6)
The bed is off of a 78 F-250supercab longbed 2wd,

I had 3 supercabs setting here at one time getting all the parts I needed to build this one,
