Hypertech
I have an 01 Excursion with the 7.3. I had the hypertech programmer in it as it was pretty cheap 3 years ago. The only problem I ran into was keeping my foot out of the pedal and not blowing the black smoke that I love to see. I ended up taking mine out and putting it back to stock. Well since I lifted my truc and have 36's I am trying to decide if I should run it again or not. I am thinking put the Chip back in with the correct tire size to help shifting adn then straight pipe it and add an intake. Thoughts on this one? I am still n Iraq but I will be back for R&R in 3 weeks and will do all this then if the audience concurs. Thanks

I would suppose that it would depend on the purpose of the rig. That said I really have fun running my psd with small tires (285s) and lots of torque, but again i dont venture off the highway often in that unit.
heres what i would recommend- sell lift/wheels tires/hypertech buy a set of gauges-boost, trans temp ect a shift kit such as this- http://www.swdiesel.com/index.php?ma...2a9ce3d04b65e5 a set of these- http://www.swampsdiesel.com/xtcommer...d-Street-.html a one of these custom tuned- http://www.dp-tuner.com/index.php?p=...&parent=5&pg=1 follow that with a good exhaust, a DIY/Tymar intake and have fun until the trans gives out.

I'd Reccomend DP... Get Rid of that Canned Tunes... In that HyperTech. Get some Gauges , and A DP and you'll be set.
It will make you realize how much garbage the other one is. Night , and Day Different. I would SAY DP Tuner John Wood Valve Body (gets rids of slop in trans and will make it last alot longer) I'd wait awhile on Injectors Though.. Also Highly Recommend Powerstrokenation.com , followed by powerstroke.org
