Hey guys whats up. I recently acquired a 1969 2WD Ford E-300 and want to lift it. It seems though that since it has the I-beam suspension almost no one makes a lift for these and similar vehicles like the same generation F-350's. Anybody know of a lift I can buy? Making one is really out of the question. Thanks in advance
I did it to my '72 f-250 2wd with some angle iron and rectangular tube, sorry no pics, but I got it to clear 33's. Only problems was I never figured out how to drop the radius arm brackets/ bend radius arms
When I was in high school one of the guys flipped his I beams so the drop section pointed down. I think he flipped them and swapped them side to side to maintain the king pin angle. He had enough room to run Armstrong Tru Tracs (about a 32 in tire) with no trimming. I think he used a 4wd lift block from an F-250 in the rear. This was in around 1969 too. Oh and the radius arms stayed put.
Any year before the TTB front axle. So 79 f-150 and older. Disc brakes started in 76, but the open knuckle/coil sprung design Dana 44 in F-100's started in 1965. I think a disc brake conversion on an earlier axle is easy.
In the early days Parnelli had a van he used as a pre-runner that had the I beams modified so they were straight beams. Today you can pick them up at the wrecking yard from F-250 and 350 2wd trucks.
