Not sure on the input shaft but I believe that from 77 to present they all used the same bolt pattern. Its called an A pattern or somethin like that. The bottom holes have a wider spacing than the top. The early inputs were shorter I believe. Not sure when it changed or by how muc. Thats all i got
i thought only the T-19 was offered as a close or wide ratio? They are often behind 4bt's. I have two np435's and never checked to see if they have different first gears. What is you current first gear ratio?
Close ratio? Sounds like a 445 not a 435.
The inputs are standardized on later stuff, but, if memory serves, FE and big truck apps are oddball on legnth.
trivia for oddball Ford NP-435 info....if you have a 1965 or earlier 4x4 (F250/F100) or a F-350 and a 1966 F250 4x4 and F350( 1966 f100 4x4 and f250/f100 4x2 being the exception) with the old style motor/tranny mounts where the front mount is on the timing cover and the bell housing has the two side mounts, you will have a longer input shaft length of approx. an inch. and the ratios are goofy with a nasty step up between 2nd and 3rd...not smooth. these trannies simply bolted to the bellhousing hung in the air without a rear support. afaik anything from 1967 foward would/should be the same for gas trucks 1 ton on down.
And I thought too that only the t-19 behind a desiel was close ratio with a syncro in 1st gear.
Ford actually used all three ratio sets in the T19... I have examples from each, all out of 86 F250's, 2 diesels, and my 460 pile... All of them are syncro first of course.
chevy used a close and wide ration np435 in the sixties and early 70s as an option. i dont know how close they are to fords
