installing hydroboost from 98 mustang in my 74 bronco. What is a good (right) power steering pump to use? Out of what vehicle, year, make, model? Thanks for any help I can get.
get a saginaw pump from a econoline van and modify it with the red neck ram article by drilling out the flow passage. I did this to mine and put it on a professional p/s pump tester and it gave my 1500psi the same as any expensive aftermarket "super pump" advertises. I run a hydro boost from a 99 f250 superduty with my modified pump and hydro assist with no issues. You will want to plumb in an adjustable proportioning valve to the rear after its done. get rid of the stock valve completely. Mine had so much pressure it locked up my 44's no problem even at fast speeds. I plumbed in the valve and dialed down the pressure until it was just right..I also have rear discs as well though.
