Hi I am installing a dana 44 under my 90 ranger, just for my knowledge, is it possible to use a 1 1/4 " solid roud steel bar? ( I am using DOM, but I said is possible, Is this what comes from factory or is a forged bar?)
from what I've seen the factory is a cast piece I'm pretty sure. At least I always figured it was, since it has the mold lines down either side of it. Regardless, go with DOM, saves you $$$ in the long run.
On my rig, I went down to the local farm store an bought an adjustable toplink from a tractor, its about 40" fully spun out, its got two 'hiem' ends was $18 and workds great, plan to use the same thing for my ladder bars, however ill section them an then sleeve them so overall length will be 60"
I used DOM on my '90 Ranger with GM '1-ton' TREs. Easy install if you put it in the stock location. If you flip he TREs to be on top of the knuckles, then you have to worry about he passenger side radius arm shock mount and the blot for the trac bar. Both are easy fixes though.
