I have a D44 HP out of a 1976 F-100, I need to know if it had radius arms or leaf springs. The mounts where cut off and ground smooth when the axle was purchesed. Trying to order TNT customs front truss kit.
It was probably a coil spring radius arm front axle. Although the super cab started in 74, I don't recall seeing an F-150 super cab till about 77/78. It would have had leaf springs. There is also some discussion here that it may have used the F-250 Dana 44 axles or housing. F-250 Dana 44's were not high pinion till after midyear 77. 76 was the first year for disc brakes in the F-100/150 4wd trucks.
Ok, aside from just4cuz, and 71PA_Highboy... No one has had a decent "help full" thing to say. Lets play STFU... any takers?
If it's truly a leaf sprung housing, there will be a spring pad cast into said housing. If it's radius armed axle, then well... There will be no spring pad.
