am in the process of trying to buy a ford 203 for a doubler setup and was wondering if there were any certain years that are better than others for some reason. thanks.
I don't know of any specific differences between years. Ford 203's can be hard to come by or at least I had trouble locating one. I used a Chevy 203 and got a Ford 31spl 203 input shaft from Boyce. I had to redrill the front face to the Ford bolt pattern which was acually very easy. The one thing that I noticed when it was all done is that the Chevy and Ford gear boxes on the 203 are mirrored as far a PTO cover and shifter. The Chevy box put the shifter on the pass side away from the congestion of the other shift rails on the 205 as I twin sticked it and it would have made threading another shift linkage in there more difficult.
just did one in my truck from what i found all ford 203 are the same from input spline to output spline.. heres a few pics of my shifter set up post 117
i have a 75 divorced range box that aint doing anything
