Anyone running H1 rims on their D44? Or...anyone who has rims with deep backspacing like the H1's? I believe they are 16.5 x 9" wide with 7" BS.

I'm about to use an F250 high pinion D44 under my Sonoma and don't mind the tires sticking out a little bit, but I want to use rims with no less than 5" backspacing to keep the width at a minimum. 6-7" BS would be ideal on an 8.5-9" wide wheel. I drive in states with pretty strict fender laws.

Anyone running similar specs? Please post a front shot and let me know if the rims hit anything (tie rod, high steer arm, caliper, ect ect).

Edit: BTW, I don't want to use bolt on spacers to prevent anything from rubbing because that would negate the idea of keeping things narrow.

Thanks in advance.

I would just cut down the long side tube and use wheels with less backspacing. The stock h1's will rub most hi steer arms that I know of. Also, your hubs will be the contact point for anything on the trail. Stock h1's work great with drw style hubs, but not really with the srw style hubs.

No pics, and I am not even sure that was a help full post.:homer: Just what I remember about playing with those wheels.

Well, I have a 14B FF at 67" wide for the rear that is a great match for the 68" wide front F250 D44. I know people claim it's 69-69.5" but I measured the width of the axle I have and came up with 68". I was going to use deep rims to keep the overall width down.

Wouldn't cutting only the long side down shift the differential to the passenger side?

I found a few high steer arms that are designed to work with H1 rims. They are angled in a bit, so if I have to go to full high steer to keep the width down, so be it.

I ran H2's for short time on my F250 D44, had to run a .25" spacer but only to clear my tierod end because I flipped the tierod over the knuckle.

I don't think I have any pics that show the clearances and I don't have the H2's anymore.

*edit* best I've got...

Track width on it was just a touch over stock even though the axle was un-cut, kinda defeated the whole purpose of my build ( I wanted it to be wide )

ok i got lost in whatever you were trying to say. but here's what i know:

h1's will clear the brakes
h1's will clear the stock knuckles
h1's will not clear the TRE under or over
special arms are a requirement for high steer.
if you run leaves you will have no steering. (tires into leaves at very little steering angle)
