I'm facing a dillema that I hope you PBB'rs can provide some insight for.
I bought a 74 EB last year with a 347 stroker in it. It wasnt set up right and without going into too much detail it now needs rebuilding.
My original plan was to rebuild and make it full roller, maybe with aluminum heads and other performance parts, with the ultimate goal of producing around 400hp. Estimated cost around 2k. EVENTUALLY I was planning to do an EFI conversion
Being in an EB club is dangerous.... one of the members is ditching one of his many projects, and in so he's made me a deal on the motor. Its a crate 5.0 EFI that has never been installed in anything. He offered the motor, all EFI hardware and the explorer pulleyset for 2800, sounds like a good price to me.
Now I'm trying to decide what to do. I have half a mind to just rebuild the 347 without upgrades, which I already have all the parts for... and trying to sell it, but I'm not sure what I'd get for it, or if anyone would even want it.
Then I could buy the 5.0 and upgrade it instead of the 347....
But my big question, and forgive me if this is a NOOB question, but would it work to do a switcheroo and put the efi from the 5.0 onto the 347??
