Ok, I have an F-550 that is sitting and has me wondering some things. First off, what front axle is this thing? I know the rear is a Dana 135 but I can't really identify the front. I know it has 4:88's for gears and a limited slip in the rear.
Next thing is, anyone make a lift kit for this thing?
I haven't found a whole lot of info on them, so I am thinking of just parting it and funding my Dodge project. But it is a fairly decent rig, just needs some tlc.
Well, the cab is trash, and the front clip is all beat up. Basically it is a running frame. I need to delete the egr cooler as that is blown. But otherwise it is a pretty good setup. It is just really long as it was a crew cab. Has a 6.0 diesel in it and manual transfer case. I took a look at some pics online of the super 60 and it is indeed a super 60.
As for parting it, I would keep the main parts complete, such as a complete axle hub to hub and steering etc. But I don't know. If I did keep it, it would sit in the barn till I get everything finished up on my Dodge at the moment.
Well, I think I know what I am going to do with it. Shorten the frame waaay up and put a Ranger body on it Then pimp it around the trails while I build the Dodge.
I will be out at the shop again this weekend and can get some pics of it. Getting it to CA should be interesting lol
