So I have the opportunity to purchase a complete 7.3 liter power stroke diesel engine for $200. It is not stolen, the guy needs rent money and some shit gone. The engine is still in the transport van. What all should I take with the engine? What trannys mate up to this engine? What do I do with a big ass diesel engine?

you can sell it and make a grand.

The turbo on vans are more desirable then truck turbos.

Trannys that mate are 4r100,zf6,E40d and probable more.

Try to get the complete engine harness, computer, and IDM (injector drive module) IDM is located between the inner and outer fender on the drivers side on trucks. Not sure on vans....

Id grab the interooler w/piping, and the radiator as well if you can. Someone would want this for a swap or to replace there blown 7.3.

This, grab everything you can that looks to be related to the motor, if you can get the trans I'd grab it too.

No intercooler in the vans but radiator would be good idea, if nothing else it's worth a few bucks in scrap.

How much does he want for the whole van? That might be your better option.

Whole van is a no go as I really don't have the space for the motor even, but opportunity knocked and I finally have a job and can answer. I can't take the tranny as well because It was sold to another guy last month for rent. I'm kinda thinking about building the biggest small buggy or the smallest big buggy around this engine but I REALLY don't need another project now; and that would be kind of like deciding to build a house because I got a good deal on some french doors. Anyway thanks for the help so far and feel free to add anything else you might find of use to me.
