i have an 87 fullsize bronco that needs a tailgate. I know the body style is 87-91 but then somebody told me that the 92-96 tailgates will work to. so is this true?? somebody on here has to know.

Yes, 87-97. The 80-86 stuff is very similar to 87-96/7, not sure about Bronco, but truck is very similar, same basic truck, different body, cab is the same or close to it.

78 to 96 all have the same tailgates. The trim styles are the only thing diffrent I think.

i got a tailgate and glass from a junkyard for 75 bucks. not too bad since all the mechanicals worked even the spring assist. out here in the rust belt it is really hard to find a tailgate in decent shape. the tailgate i got was from an 85 and it fit perfectly. so it is confirmed that the 80- 96 tailgates all work. thanks for your help
