AOD shift lever hits my front drive shaft.. wtf?
After spinning the front axle tubes in the housing, I corrected the pinion angle and welded it up only to find that the corrected pinion angle brought the front driveshaft closer to the trans pan... so close in fact that it hits the driveshaft.
![]() I installed a skinnier driveshaft (2") and bent the shift lever around so it kinda wraps under toward the pan. I have an art carr gate shifter and already had to make my own cable mount to keep the cable out of the front output on the tcase, so this thing is already on my shit list. ![]() two questions: 1) Anyone know of a kit or application that mounts the TV and the shift lever UP? Currently, the TV points up and shift lever points down. I am guessing that something with an offset would allow both to be pointed up. 2) any AOD shifters out there that have the trans side of the cable mount to something other than pan bolts? Details that may be of use: Stock bronco D20 t-shift tcase, AOD w/AA adapter, Art Carr gate shifter (cable), D44 bronco front axle, 2" driveshaft (cant go skinnier due to 393 motor), 3.5" suspension lift, 2" body lift.. I cant be the first person to put an AOD in with a corrected pinion angle. I would think this would be a similar problem if you had a stock height bronco and an AOD. Thanks!
