New to this site figured i would post some pics of whats going on with my truck. also big thanks to rob@chimney canyon 4x4

mock up height of the truck with 2" block installed

this is with the leafs compressed+bilsteins

i need some better backspacing for the rims :/

prego wife was a little bit unhappy when she saw the height. had the baby last week and she is still unhappy about the height

i have taken the 2" factory blocks since these pics no HP dana30's were easily available.

coil bucket and spring hangers

got 4.88s and a SOLID cover for the rear

Why dana 30? There are Dana 44's all over the place for a couple hundred dollars, I think I would have gone with that. Nice looking truck though. Going to be a dirver/mild wheeler I'm guessing?

my gf dosnt like the height of my mazda either

Yup but eb dana44s are not or they were expensive. The rest of the 44s I found were wrong bold pattern or full width neither I wanted to deal with. The 30 matches 5 on 4.5 and width and is $100

Nothing wrong with using what's cheap and available, but remember that Ranger is heavier than a Jeep and you will most likely break that Dana 30 in no time. I would start saving for a 44 in the meanwhile.

my next trip down to houston i am picking one up to swap out. so i wont be running the 30 to long the shop doing the work is taking bets what i break next. i already blew most of the IFS hub, CV's etc. just hoping this 30 last a little longer just got 33s on it so hopefully they don't eat that 30 to fast

My old 30 took some real crap with 33's before it gave up the ghost with 35's just take it easy till you can upgrade then blow it up for fun.

found the limits of factory LS still no 4wd my yukon gears are back ordered still :/

got out by jumping in the bed and stacking rocks

right side is off the ground

passenger side is on the bump stop

needs a limiting strap maybe?

Can you post some pics of the steering shaft and gear box? I would like to see what you did to the botten of the steering colum.

yea will post them up shortly rolled the truck on some black ice so its in the shop right now...

look closely and you will see a trail fix there is a sheared bolt in there with a tow strap holding something in

it was one hell of a weird feeling...it was like the whole thing happened in slow motion felt the passenger side get light than it was sliding on the drivers side. I'm glad it didn't keep rolling. honestly pain wise its not bad at all just sore in my back and neck.

sucky part is the day before i was pissed that the L/S wasn't working for shit with a wheel off the ground. works like a champ on ice which is probably the worst thing ever. was off the throttle doing 20mph and the truck would not stay planted in the corners.

Do you happen to have a build list of everything you had to buy/install?? I'm about to start a SAS on my '05 and I want to try and make sure I have everything before I start. The shorter this thing is apart the better.....the wife really likes her truck on the road.

does anyone have an opinion on welding up the D30 in the front of mine thinking of welding the rear instead of fixing the crap LS.

Your ranger looks good. You are definitely gonna need a 44 upfront. I hav a full width hp44 in my ranger and it has held up pretty well so far. And keep an eye on that rear axle if u decide to weld it up. Cuz those shafts will break easy. Trust me.
