Measuring caster on a d60

getting ready to swap a king pin 60 into my bronco, and wanting to get the caster somewhere close.. LOL

I am going to run stock radius arms, so i know that i can get degreed bushing to get it dialed in, but I just need a starting point.

My question is.................. Is measuring across the top of the upper king pin a good measurement? I read a few places where guys described using the upper king pin bolts as a reference point. How does this sound?

use the tin cap if possible.

you can also remove the grease zirk from the lower cap and tha twill give you a good flat surface as well.

I was just outside looking at it, and the bottom did look like a better idea.

So the flat surface of the cap IS a good representation of the caster then?

Just wanted to make sure the little ideas floating around in me head were somewhat factual!!!

Measurements should be made at normal ride height with radius arms as they roll the axle quite a bit as they squat.

easiest way i've found is to use a swanson speed square and a level on the lower kingpin cap. takes under 30 seconds to measure either side.

I do understand this, I am actually going to get my caster reading the way the bronco sits now for a comparison, since it does ride and handle good now.
