google the following terms

compression check
cam timing
firing order

If you cant figure out the next step from there, you shouldn't be working on it anyway.

and please.. go somewhere else with the 10th grade auto shop questions.. this isnt the forum for it.

You probly have the cam timing off. Or it bent a valve or picked up ome shit elsewhere when the gear went.

You need to do the following:

1.Learn how to Punctuate.
I don't give a fuck how urgent your problem is, or how cool you think you are, if we can't make sense of what you are saying, we can't help you. With the current state of your grammar, it really looks like a fingerless retarded child has just asked us a question.

2.Learn how to Spell.
Nothing makes us want to help you less than seeing common words misspelled, especially when there are SO MANY programs and add ons that can help you.

3.Learn how to use the search function, both here at Pirate, and on Google.
Not only will it probably answer your question, since it has been asked 1000 times before, but if you run into one of those pesky words you can't spell, you can look it up.

4.Visit http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php so you can get your questions answered without getting your throat ripped out.

A really good question to ask is: are the 300's interference engines. If the timing chain breaks and the cranks is allowed to turn will the pistons hit the valves. So do some don't.

The 300 is NOT and interference engine, and uses gears in place of a timing chain.

all sorts of fun tricks for this guys beloved POS. personally i would scrap the i6 and get a real motor a 460 fits real nice in the front of that F150, but that would require thought something a dumbass will have trouble with

The 300 is a GREAT motor, period.

It's normal for one to go over 300K miles, and they make great low end torque suitable for wheeling, and they are dead stupid simple.

This coming from the guy with a 472 under the hood.

You are correct it is a very reliable motor and has more low end torque than a similar displacement v8 however it cannot hold a candle to a larger v8. IMO it would be much more worthwhile to snag a bigblock and toss it into that truck than to rebuild a tired 300.

I have personally seen one do 650k with proper oil changes. That being said it went through 2 transmissions rebuilds in the process. That motor was swapped for a 460 and it woke the truck up.

Because an 18yr old can afford to put gas in a big block or need one. Not to mention it doesnt sound like he is capable of dropping in a 460 himself.
