Ok,
So here is the deal I’m looking at putting a 5.4L 3v in my trail buggie. I’m trying to find some one that can get the 5.4L to run with out trannie or diff censers, so basicly ecu and engine only. i would like to get the wiring harness reworked and lengthened about 4ft to get it as high in my buggie in order to keep it out of the muck. Yes the 5.4 is a ford, and yes i know about the LS engines but i want to do it with The FORD 5.4L. Thanks for your help. Des |

Honestly, your best bet might be to just go with an aftermarket stand alone computer and harness. You get what you want and are not spending forever eleminating stuff you don't want.
Stretching a harness isn't exactly as simple as it sounds. 2 ways of doing it, a whole bunch of spliced wires inside the harness (not the best idea), or replace every wire going to the computer with a new one that is longer (a complete custom built harness with almost not orignial wires). |

dude! why even bother! a 350 with a rv cam, and those panties will drop! i promise! maybe even get crazy with a 3/4 race cam... no need to do the ls swap like all the other sheep out there..

Going with this line of thinking.... Why not mount the engine higher up in the buggy too. I mean, mount it too the roof and use a bunch of drain snakes taped together in lieu of a driveshaft, and your rig will be UNSTOPPABLE!!!!

ya i did find some flashing software thanks to this thread but I thought i saw a place that would do the ecu and wiring for "end users". i had seen it on the net when i Googled the project be for but now im having trouble finding it. IT was a good price too something like $300 or so ........... a good deal in my book.
Im in bozeman mt and ya nothing here will/ can do the ecu flash and wiring its BFE out here as fare as electronics go. Ya i have done other swaps be for just this is my first EFI and need the ecu done that’s the only hang up for this project. but i can do the DIY thing now too, i just want to have the ease of "it went to the shop" but it may just be the next new thing i have to learn. Thanks for all your help guys. |
