Thank you for the suggestions and I appreciate you giving this some thought, I will pass your suggestions on to Trail Coordinators. We are always looking for ways to improve and suggestions from Trek participants and volunteers are how we keep Trek fun and exciting year after year.

If you have further comments or suggestions feel free to contact me directly Via Email or PM.

Thanks for actually caring enough to ask. My family and I are looking forward to it this year and are excited about the oppurtunity to run the trial twice, once on Tthursday and again for Star Trek!

How about a mini-bus to ferry drivers from Meadow Lake back to their tow rigs parked at Cisco Grove!

Pretty sure this thread is suggestions on how to make "Sierra Trek Better" You two have any suggestions or just want to bust my balls for making one.
There are quite a few people trailering their rigs and looking for a means to get back to their tow rigs. A van or a bus of some sort would make it easier for them to do that. Car pooling is another option. After a good day of wheeling on the trail, people want to be able to enjoy themselves in camp and not worry about getting back to their tow rigs. Just saying....

I was being sincere. The flip off guy was because I felt like I was pointing out the obvious.

Driving down the trail to get back to Cisco is faster than driving all the way around through Truckee, down 80 and to Cisco. Not to mention driving your tow rig all the way back to Meadow and then all the way back out. That’s a lot of road driving vs being on the trail.

Not sure what PePe’s deal is….uncalled for if you ask me. (just kidding chris)

Edit:

We will be running the trail, Meadow to Cisco, Sunday morning if you want to join our group.

first trek I participated in was the 29th the first trek I was on a committe was the 30th and heavbeen on one since, the trek I missed/boycotted were the ones in cisco grove. If you want to make trek better
1.Bring the food back to the level it used to be(tacos such) not all tacos the ones at trek.
2. Lower the price especialy for committee people
3.don't let uncle Willy Talk so much at staging and keep him moving on the trail.
4.have trail committe do a better job of screning trail crew we need experienced people on trail committe last year thursday the same truck rolled at least twice this was a committe member.
5.Move the raffle back to sunday morning
6.don,t run out of food,ie last year ran out of biscuits and gravy saturday and then served them on sunday
7. worry more about having an exceptional event and less about profit.

Finally to quote one of the Fatboys(if anyone even remembers who they were) "Feed them well and they will return".

I would like to see an old west type of sign at the base of each winch hill so the participants know where they are at on the trail.

Games at Meadow lake other than just Saturday. Winch Hill themes. Maybe a competition between WH's and have the paid guest vote on who wins. Pick a theme and all WH have to base it on that. Continue the theme at Meadow lake. Maybe even make Saturday night a costume party based on the theme.

you might want to put someone at winch hill .5 the bypass to the first mud hole we went through last weekend and had to pull 5 rigs up it all had 35" mudders and lockers im on 42s no problem but most of the trekers are in smaller rigs

I agree that you will need to man WH.5 two weeks a go we had to whinch rigs with 37's to keep from rolloing saw a guy in a toyota on 38.5's roll. this has become a difficult spot and with some of the drivers on trek being of the less experienced type it could present a real problem.

Thanks Guys I appreciate the feed back..

wh .5 is one of the areas of concern that FOF has brought up to me recently and I have let our Trail Coordinator and lead know about it, he is making a run through the trail on the 21st and will asses the situation and will make adjustments where necessary.

Putting volunteers on wh.5 may not be an option this year but we will definitively look into what can be done to help the participants make it safely though the trail.
