Memorial Day..

I know it's kinda early but do any of you guys foresee Fordyce as being doable on memorial day? Camping at Cisco Grove and then heading up the trail? I gotta think with all the runoff that even if they shut down the flow out of the lake it would still be running fiercely. Watcha all think?

I would think there will be better options for Memorial. Can't imagine the snow will melt by then

I was talking to a buddy about this a little bit ago. I'm having a hard time seeing it being much fun, between the snow and run off. Has anyone been by Cisco? I'd imagine there is snow there right now?

Moonrocks!

I avoid moonrocks on busy weekends like the plague. Johnson Valley on memorial is a good time.

Talking to dirtyjed on Monday, and even if flows show passable, so much will be draining downstream I doubt that the crossings will be passable. I guess a quick trip to the little campsite on this side of the 1st crossing would be better than nothing, but not much room down there for very many rigs. Not much snow up there, I'll take a picture of the Cisco parking lot and see if I can get into the staging area off Eagle lakes tomorrow on my way up the hill.

Probably be a couple cheap builder rigs for sale soon on the Summit.

Is it that bad now? We used to go every weekend from around 07-13. 12 seemed like the craziest, and I always wondered if it just flattened from there or got completely out of hand. It's too bad because it used to be a ton of fun, since there was no trail to be clogged up.

Kinda hard to make the 10+ hour trip to jv for a 3 day weekend.

Went to reno yesterday, figured I'd stop by Cisco for some pics. Still plenty of snow

Went up yesterday on the sled. There is 12+ feet at the turn to Signal off of Rattlesnake.

Did you go down towards committee at all?

I'm used to driving on 12'+ of snow, but the side hills seem like they could get pretty bad in that open area past that little bridge....

Not to mention the water depth.

Ah, I always forget about all that, all our roads that we normally run on up here stay open all year.

I camped at Cisco grove last weekend. The tenant guy ran out saying there was no parking. I informed him I was staying the night. Go inside to pay and the lady told me I couldn't unload my Toyota as there was no wheeling. I had to explain I'm staying the night but going down to eagle lakes for wheeling purposes. She finally relaxed but the gate is covered at Cisco. Only made it a little past driveline but was with couple land cruisers on 35" and trail already cut in

Snow on the road to Staging yesterday 4/19/2017 just past the L sweeping corner and the burn area on the right. Didn't go down past here, wet and slushy and in the work truck.

You know it's not looking good when you can't even get to the staging area

Yup.

And in the sun too. Hoping to take the quads up there soon and ride in just for fun.

Cool picture from a gas leak from last month.

Tank is up on piers and they're still not to the lid. Took an excavator 4ish hours just to get this far in Serene Lakes/Soda Springs.

Probably wouldn't do anything, propane is heavier than air.

Which make me wonder how it was found?
