6-16-17 Rattlesnake road

100 yards or so past the Fordyce/Sterling split. 10-12' still in the shade on the road. Huge holes. Gonna be a while.

Ya - the club is doing a picnic weekend @ Fordyce July 7-9, but we're not going to try the Eagle Lake -> Committee run we did a couple years ago that turned into a 16hr marathon trip (aka, Fordyce Death March). We got back to Cisco Grove around 2:30am :-(. So figure we'll run to the first water crossing and back, and maybe Signal Peak if its clear. And BBQ and beer the rest of the time

I second that. Most of the pictures people are posting don't have much snow at all. Planning to roll in from Cisco for the 4th. Would like to know if it's possible. Would we have better luck going in from eagle lakes? I know a bunch of people have made it to the first crossing going that way with not much snow in the way.

Because of how much snow we got this year and now how hot it has been, the snow level is pretty high, but once you hit it, the snow gets deep fast.

That being said, driving on top of 12' of snow is no harder than 2' this time of year. It's the side hills and holes that will get you All in good fun imo.

I've got pics. Cant post them. It happened. Could give two shits if you all believe me or not. YotaAtie, your right, is was a blast wheeling in 10-12' of snow. The tree holes, undercuts and side hills were sketchy but fun.

I took an aerial photo of Meadow Lake yesterday (06/20/17).

I cannot post the photo, as I have too few posts. I can send to someone to post.
