Has anyone been to Fordyce in the last couple of weeks?

Has anyone been to Fordyce in the last couple of weeks? My buddy’s and I are thinking about going up this weekend. Maybe run to the top of the hill at the first river crossing if we can get that far. Let me know if you have any info on the conditions.

Thanks JDunn

I snowshoed in a few weeks ago, the CLIFTA was looking a little narly after sunrise hill but the snow was so deep. if you can get it to pack down again you might stand a chance of going in a little ways.

The first creek crossing was hardly visable. ice and snow across most of it and pretty steep drop offs from the snow down into the creek. i didnt get too close since i wasnt sure if there were any hollow spots under the snow due to the water running underneith but it looked like probably 8' down at the edge it may have been a 10' edge

there was 3 ft of fresh snow when i went in that morning and it was still coming down when i left.

Thanks!

We are going on Friday but not sure if we will be going to Fordyce or an exit down the hill to another spot we looked at last summer.

It was great. We did not go to Fordyce but were in the same area. The snow conditions could not have been better. We had to go over a snow bank about 12' tall. on the other side we never hit the dirt. Made it about 2.5 - 3 miles in and turned around because we wanted to get back to the trailers before the sun went down.

Thanks! I was out there all day. We had a great snow run on Friday and am supposed to go back up on Saturday but about noon on Monday I decided after work I was going to rip the rear axle out and have my spindles changed so I can fit some 35 spline cromo shafts. I'm also putting in a spool and disk brakes. so hopefully I get it finished in the next day or two. I was hoping to put it back in tonight but it is not ready so I am going to make some half doors instead.

We are going to Moon Rocks Memorial Day. It will be lots of fun. I know a lot of people are going to be there, all are welcome.

I haven't been there for a while but there is some fresh snow. I passed by last weekend and lots of snow has melted. There is probably no more than 6-8 feet of snow.

Tyson, good to hear you had a good time. Did you go up drive line or did you go around? What river did you make it to? The campground that cuts left before you get to drive line or the first river crossing?

Looks like the snow was a little soft, But lots of fun. I miss running Fordyce, I haven't been there since the end of last year.

A couple of weeks ago 3 friends and myself broke trail on a different trail across the freeway. It was great breaking trail and the snow was perfect. The next weekend we went to the same spot with WeBilt on their annual snow run. The snow was alright but not as good as the weekend before.

I am going to greenhorn this weekend, next weekend I am going to play on the rock pile next door for my buddy's 21st b-day. After that the rig will be on jack stands for a couple of weeks for some new bling.

I want to run Fordyce before we go to Moon Rocks for Memorial Day. I'll let you know when we go to see if you want to go.

JDunn

I think I saw you headed up yesterday morning. I was headed down the mountain on my way back from skiing. Your truck looks clean.
