Hey! I was with Sillyneck as well. Glad you made it out OK.

So how did you break all of that? Was it from trying to go through squeeze?

Hey man thanks again! We just planned on having a fun little day trip that ended up with a few breaks. Without help from guys like you we would still be limping slowly up the trail. Jessica and I were checking out your web site after seeing your rigs on the trail. She gave me the green light to make some much needed improvements to make our future adventures a bit more pleasant. I just need a bit of advise and guidance from an expert. Can you help or do you know of anyone? I've got some money and just want the improvements done right.

Thanks,

Chris and Jessica

Right on man, thanks for stopping by!

..... if you're saying to make your rig as rad as possible w/ a given budget you're talking to the right guy. Why don't you shoot me a call or PM this week and we can get to talking about what you already have and what we might want to improve upon! Or stop by the shop and have a beer if you're in sac soon.

Phil

No, nothing cool. We broke the leaf on winch hill 1 when we were running a bad line. I was guiding Jessica and using the winch. The spring just snapped without warning. It was only the 2nd trip on the springs. Hopefully Rubicon Express will cover a new replacement. The axle snapped somewhere else up the trail. Probably from my lead foot! It was a long day and the kids were tired. I was in a hurry to get home and was not being too careful.

Hey Chris,
hurry up and get your rig fixed/finished ... we would love to have you join us on the 'Con on the 18th. I guess our wiring work will have to wait till you figure out what you are cutting.

Yup I am gonna meet up with Phil this week and hopefully come up with a plan that meets our budget. His rigs look sweet and he seemed like a super nice guy on the trail.

I should have an idea what I'm gonna do with my jeep later this week. Hopefully I will have a rig by then for the trip.

I highly recommend him. He is the reason why my rig was there and made it through!

Thanks for the good words guys. It makes the tough times worthwhile after hearing things like this!

Justin (just2much19) only got 1/2 his project completed before coming out on his 2nd wheeling trip EVER and I couldn't get away from him... every time I looked back he was right there. (I'm gonna have to detune his rig when I get it back) j/k

Oh...I quit posting build threads because on the whole people of this website are a-holes and are all self proclaimed professional know it all, done it all, could have done it better than you, kinda people.

I have too much work as it is so i don't really do any hype threads right now as it is.

a crunchy taco? Is that steering fluid or hot sauce leaking out of it? So is it done yet or what? I want to see it crush things that are not attached to it!

I just met up w/ chris and Jessica. Two excellent individuals might I add. So you should surrender all your good parts to them! Their jeep is going under the knife soon and we will NOT have a situation like last time! The next trail report will read that they had to drag someone ELSE out and to go see sillyfab

Jessica and I had a chance to see Phil, Mr. Silly himself today and I must say we are both more than impressed. He sure knows how to build sweet rigs. We can't wait for him to build our Jeep and test it out on the trail. We have plans on losing our front Dana 44 and swapping in a 60 on 42" Iroks. Plus many other cool things too. I'll keep you all posted on the progress/transformation as he goes.

Hey Brett I am all set for the con this weekend. I installed new leaf springs and new axle shafts. I have plenty of spare parts and ready to have a blast on the trail. You have to try fordyce soon it is a very beautiful trail. I think its better scenery than the rubicon.

It in my opinion is a much better trail than the Rubicon these days. The fact that you can still use the little sub trails that get you into camp makes a huge difference. Ice gets heavy when you have to lug it 300 yards down a hill to get into camp at Buck Island.
