Bebe,
When we had the Eldorado meetings, I pushed them for one in the Bay Area. We got it and it was the best one attended. any chance of trying to do that also? they need to understand that an aweful lot of the people that use the forest do not live right next to it.

I will try for the one on the 9th myself

The OHV's look to be hit really hard in the "preferred" proposal, with the elimination of all but one open area, Prosser Pits. Also in that proposal there is pretty much a blanket seasonal closure of all native surface roads.
The Tahoe DEIS bites.

+1

Circumstances prevent me from heading to Auburn (closest one for me), but I could definitely attend a meeting in the East Bay.

Regards,
....Mike

What we need is for folks to send in requests via e-mail and phone to ask for a Bay Area Meeting.

Send the e-mails/phone calls to :

David Arrasmith darrasmith@fs.fed.us (530) 478-6220.

Bebe,

I can't figure out how to make this a running thread in multiple forums. I can copy the thread, but can't make it appear in several forums at once. We are gonna have to ask Lance to do that for us.

David Arrasmith,

I am writing to express my concern for the DIES published for the Tahoe National Forest. I live in Sacramento, and will be attending the meeting discussing the DIES tonight (10-9-08) in Auburn, however, a lot of the people I enjoy parts of TNF with live down in the bay area, and cannot make it to a meeting that far 'up the hill' on a week night.

I intend to take notes and report back what I have learned at tonights meeting, but I will not be able to ask the questions that they might, and obivously you wont have the ability to answer their specific questions.

I know there is a huge number of wheelers, kayakers, ATV and dirt bike riders, hunters, fishermen, hikers, and backpackers living down in the bay area that will also not have the ability to make a meeting, and I am asking that you hold one closer to this demographic of your users - both for their comments and to help inform them better.

I thank you for this consideration.
