Fordyce is WET!

Just another word about the general condition of the Fordyce trail.

Wet.

While the FOF was formed to fight to keep the trail open we also must point out that now is not a good time to be on the trail because of the very wet conditions.

That said, we fully expect some people to go regardless of the conditions, because Fordyce is open year-round. But fewer people on the trail this early should result in less impact to the trail, and helps us ensure that the trail stays open for all.

If you must go please tread lightly and winch or stap vehicles long before you normally would to limit the impact to the trail.

Very good points, that muddy section was torn up last year. id hate to see pictures of that show up at a Regional water quality control board meeting. Thats the last thing we need right now.

People need to understand how hard FOF ect work to keep this trail open and how essential it is that people start understanding a practice that exists in the Northwest. "Spring breakup" time of the thaw... when roads and trails are muddy snow is melting and water levels are high. up North the Forrest service has no sense of hummor. during that time the forrest is off limits.... Restraint may prevent us from ever having to deal with those types of restrictions.
