Need some help July 18th
Because I have had a day come free I am in need of some help. I want to clean up the mud hole area before Trek and can use 4 to 5 rigs to come with me. I was thinking of going up the 25th but now I am looking at July 18th.
Flow numbers are suposed to be around 250 cfs so take that into consideration before volunteering. We're going to block the mud hole bypasses by draggin some logs around and perhaps throwing some stuff inthe depressed areas so they are not so deep. This is just an effort to make the area more presentable for Trek. We'll by-pass the whole thing when we get approval from the Forest Service.

I can make it the 25th, if you have to change the date back.

Thanks to those of you who showed up and helped. We were able to get the mudhole area cleaned up quite a bit. The first section is pretty dry now and we just blocked the bypasses. We didn't make them impassable but the intent is clear. Do not drive there. The main trail is totally passable. The second section was really mucky and blocked by a couple of downed trees. We cleared it out, lined the bottom with downed trees and blocked the bypasses. This should do for Trek and the rest of the season. With approval we'll get going on the re-route this year. I'll post some pictures Monday. I'm on a super slow aircard right now and can't download pics this weekend.
Sorry if I didn't get back to some of you. I didn't have a chance to get online later in the week.

OK I stand corrected, the approval is signed, but we have to go through a "appeal period" which should end somewhere around August 24th.
I'm not aware of any objections that would draw out the Fordyce Decision, but we will have to wait on planning any projects until the process is concluded.
