I have a good used 258 engine block. Came out of my 75 cj5 cause I am building a 4.6 stroker. Probably needs machining etc.., but its not cracked. Currently sitting outside the shop and I will have to scrap it if no one wants it. Located in beautiful San Luis Obispo California, you pick it up and take it for free. Also have the head and a few misc parts I need to get rid of.

I've gotta do a compression check on mine tonight.. I have a 232 that might have seen it's last days I'll give ya a holler if the news is bad. fresburg ain't too far from SLO. rather build one and drop it in than pull mine apart and do it.
Do you have the intake manifold? Mines out of a Rambler

Yes, I have a 2 barrel intake manifold for a later 258. I basicly have everything except the crank, rod and pistons. Keep in mind the block is sitting outside and has started to rust in spots where there was no oil. Luckily that ain't much.

Ghetto, I ran compression check found one bad cyl.. opened valve cover found a bent push rod and a stuck valve. worked it free.. oiled and rechecked replaced push rod.. i'm within 10 psi on all 6 cyl's.. don't think i can use it just yet.. good luck.. I hate to see one go to wrecking I've thought about rebuilding short block and doing the 4.0 head.. but I can't really justify it yet I don't think. poor ol 232 ain't the best but it's running good again.

No problem. Hate to see it go to the junkyard to, but when there's someone offering up a running 258 for free it kinda puts mine in perspective. Anyhow, good job on gettin it running and I'm glad it worked out for you. See ya.
